You just need to get this %*!# website

done right.

Maybe You have more time than money right now.

It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it needs to work. You’ll come back to add more details later as your business grows, but right now, the pressure is on to get something live that makes you look professional (and doesn’t break the bank).

You’re in the right place.

What Could We Get Done Together When We

Rou Your Day?

Well, that is a complex calculation, and that’s why I need such a detailed intake form and consultation to make sure your needs and availability are realistic for this process.

Here are a few examples to consider:

Della is an ADHD coach who is going to present a TED talk in a month. She will be handing out lots of business cards and could receive a lot of referral traffic from conference attendees and YouTube viewers…but she doesn’t have a website yet. She needs to nail this and give people a way to engage with her and get on her newsletter list.

DELIVERABLES:
A mini website (up to 3-4 pages), optimized and ready to go, plus a business card design.

Geoff is a massage therapist who just graduated and got his LMBT credentials, so his budget is tight. He just needs a polished, professional page where clients can book sessions and complete intake forms so that he can run an intro promotion and sell gift cards to kick-start his practice.

DELIVERABLES:
Simple text logo, simple appointment booking, and a 1-page website with booking widget.

Selena works for a small city government. She is coordinating and hosting a day-long event at a local park in 2 months. The Parks and Rec department has given her a $1200 budget and a folder of 20 photos to put together a full set of graphics for an Instagram campaign, a flyer, and a tote bag design.

DELIVERABLES:
5 unique IG post templates in Canva, flyer text and design, print-quality tote bag graphic.

Wren is a trauma therapist who is revamping the busted 10-year-old Squarespace website that they built on version 7.0. The new site needs to look professional enough for the parents of their increasing number of teen clients to feel reassured by their expertise. They also need to incorporate a new logo and brand colors.

DELIVERABLES:
Port a 5-page website to Squarespace 7.1 and fully redesign with new copy.

These examples are all a good fit for the design day process.

Let’s figure out if it will work for you.

It’s A Big Ol’

FAQ

You’ve got questions.

I’ve got answers.

  • Great question! I’m happy to prove my credentials for you.

I don’t display most of the literal hundreds of brands and websites I have built or collaborated on here because many were under another business, but you can check out a more extensive portfolio of images RIGHT HERE.

I am coming up on my ninth year working in the web design industry, most of which has been spent cranking out custom Squarespace sites, scheduling tools, graphics, and copy at a high standard of quality and volume. I learned most of what I know from a truly excellent designer in our niche, and when we split our co-owned operation into two businesses in 2024, I became rather good at this in my own right. I am so fortunate that my former mentor and co-owner still helps by offering feedback and advice when I need it.

That’s the summary of my extensive design experience, but I have to talk about the words too.

I began my life after college as an English teacher. The years that I spent teaching writing in community colleges prepared me for creating and curating high-impact web copy from a neuro-scientific perspective. I approach copywriting holding the tools of evidence-based rhetorical strategy, opening up the written word to analyze its inner clockwork––what would make this work best to persuade an audience to take action?

I had no idea that my dual passions for visual design and writing would eventually come together in this way, but the results have moved me into a rather select class of multi-disciplinary creative professionals who are deeply fluent in many different aspects of our craft.

But the best way to sell my skills is to actually let my clients do the talking. Here’s a review from my awesome client Amy Hinsley, founder of Launch to Land:

“I came to Cooper at Clever Squirrel with a half-developed website, an overwhelming amount of information, and a clear sense of who I am...but no time or desire to figure out how to translate all of that into a cohesive site.

Like a skilled film editor who knows exactly which scenes matter most, Cooper was able to distill the essential pieces of my work and shape them into a landing page that is efficient, clear, and genuinely reflective of me.

What stood out most was their ability to bridge creativity with structure. They have a clear, thoughtful schema for search optimization and for translating business function into website form, something that feels incredibly valuable.

This kind of creative and strategic synthesis is not something I can do, have time to do, or want to do. That’s exactly why working with Clever Squirrel has been such a relief. I’m looking forward to continuing to work together as we further flesh out the site.”

  • In a compressed time frame, average around 1 month turnaround (depending on our availability) we will:

    • Reserve your design day–I will tentatively hold it, pending completion of other steps.

    • Within 48 hours: Complete your Intake Form, and text me to set up a quick consultation ASAP.

    • Join me on Google Meet or a phone call for a Discovery consultation.

    • Pay your deposit invoice for $800.

    • Schedule our first strategy meeting.

    • Collect and upload your other assets, like photos, logo files, etc.

    • Join me on Google Meet for your first strategy meeting: Review your questionnaires, brainstorm, assign preparation tasks, and schedule the second meeting.

    • Do your assigned prep tasks.

    • Second strategy meeting (if needed): Approve a final prioritized plan, select stock, mock up a look in Squarespace, define website structure, etc.

    • ROU THE DAY! In-person near Asheville or virtual, usually starting around 10am and working until it’s done.

    • Pay your final invoice.

    • Follow up by email or on Google Meet.

That’s it. Bing bang boom, you’re live!

  • We’ll have to assess your specific project, but here are a few examples that may not be a good fit, usually because the amount of time they will take is unpredictable:

    • Anything requiring a lot of custom coding and development, rather than using mostly built-in tools of the platforms we’ll be using.

    • Most things that you might classify as “troubleshooting.” This can include things like domain and security certificate issues, email connection problems, malfunctioning code, account access problems, etc.

    • Anything requiring use of unsupported tech platforms I have no expertise in.

    • Websites over 3 pages built from scratch.

    • Large websites (8+ pages) that need every page redesigned––unless you’re happy to populate the remaining pages yourself using section templates we made for other pages.

    • Hand-drawn custom graphics (as opposed to graphics made from stock assets).

  • As a neurodivergent entrepreneur, I have needed to become an expert in the art of managing executive function challenges. My brain often goes, “Squirrel!” right when I need it to pay close attention to something, and I am constantly reeling my focus back in on my priorities during all of the regular business of life. That’s where the name Clever Squirrel Creative came from.

The quick explanation of why this package is “less work” for me is because, like a lot of us in autistic and ADHD circles, my creativity thrives in contexts that offer urgency and novelty. All the brain chemicals that induce hyper-creative states come online when there’s a time crunch and a demand to improvise...right now.*

I am devastatingly efficient and effective when there’s a bit of good-natured pressure.

The same goes for anything that feels like teamwork: it lights me up and pulls my absolute best work out of me. The collaborative nature of these intensive creative do-sessions really fuels me on a deeper level than I can explain.

If I get to add both urgency AND collaboration to the same project? Phew. The results are going to be amazing.

*Supporting side note: I challenge you to ask first responders or anyone who works in an Emergency Room how many of their coworkers are diagnosed with ADHD. We squirrely types may seem to struggle with the mundanity of daily life, but we rise to the top in a crisis.

  • The most obvious qualifier for this package is that you have the time to collaborate in a compressed timeframe. Enough said about that.

If you have a strong tendency to focus on small details, and that tendency is something that you can’t set aside for 8 hours in service of getting it done, this process may frustrate or disappoint you. We’ll need to be able to back up and look at the big picture, make bold choices, and say, “Ok, good enough! This works, so let’s go with it.”

This does not mean that you can’t expect customization. But if being given limits on what is realistic and achievable in the allotted time is going to drive you nuts, you may want to have a more iterative design process over time. There is nothing wrong with that!

Sometimes the people who struggle most with this “good enough” attitude are actually artists themselves––people who understand a lot about their aesthetic preferences, but lack the tech know-how to capture it on their own. I understand that because it’s where I started out when I became a designer! Someone with a lot of strong creative opinions can be an amazing collaborator, but less so in a compressed time frame.

If you are a person who generally needs to spend a lot of time reflecting before you can decide whether you like something, there won’t be much opportunity for those kinds of long pauses in this process. We’ll need to be able to make rapid decisions. Alternatively, you can just decide to trust my expertise based on my rather extensive proof of skill. In case you missed it, here is an expanded portfolio of my work.

I have good instincts honed by tons of experience, and I won’t lead you anywhere that is going to hurt your business. So you can always tell me, “I like both of those, but not this one. I’d like you to choose.”

  • Simple: You contact me to request a consultation, and I’ll give you a quote or an hourly rate with a time estimate. If you’re on a budget, we might be able to just knock out what you want to do in a live session.

Also, a follow-up meeting is part of the plan, included in the package.
